My name is Tamela Ehlinger Nielsen. Professionally, my background is in administration, office management and accounting. My main interest (however I have many other interests) is in the preservation of our planet and all the people and animals that inhabit it. When I learn of anything that is or could be a threat to our environment, I pay attention, learn all I can about the subject and I blog about it. While I am far from being an expert, I do follow the Oceanic Preservation Society, am a member of "Take Part", a social action network that covers many issues from the environment to poverty and social welfare. Another source of information/learning for me is the Jean-Michel Cousteau's, Ocean Futures Society. And there are many more that I either follow or am a member of. You will read "if I have not already scared you away" blogs not only about our planet, but fun things as well. Here you will learn what is happening and up-to-date information about our planet both good and bad. Since there are two sides of the coin - I blog about the positive and not just the negative. I have a very strong personality and the ability to survive any situation in life. Having been a single mother, working and going to school all at the same time, not only made me strong, but gave me a perspective on life that I probably would not seen otherwise. This perspective allowed me to begin to see the world as it really was. I asked questions and learned. My sense of humour gets me through many hard times and compliments the good times. Honesty is something I admire, and while it can be a harsh thing, I prefer it. I dislike politics and the ever-present organized religion that goes with it. In my opinion politics and religion - has never really evolved. As you can tell, I have a strong opinion; however that does not mean I am not open to others or respect the differences in others.
